"Recent" = share of a tool's tracked tutorials published in the last six months. Highlighted values (≥70%) mark tools whose coverage is overwhelmingly new.

Fastest rising

Among widely-taught tools (20+ educators), these have the largest share of brand-new tutorials — a leading indicator of where educator attention is moving.

  1. Claude Cowork 89% of tutorials from the last 6 months · 141 educators
  2. OpenAI Codex 75% of tutorials from the last 6 months · 391 educators
  3. Claude Code 68% of tutorials from the last 6 months · 777 educators
  4. Replit AI 47% of tutorials from the last 6 months · 141 educators
  5. Bolt.new 46% of tutorials from the last 6 months · 53 educators

Methodology

The index is computed from Developer Educators' own dataset of 6,549 developer-education YouTube channels and their videos, refreshed on every site rebuild.

  • Educators — the count of distinct channels that teach a tool, detected from video titles and descriptions. This is the primary signal and is not capped.
  • Adoption Index — that educator count scaled so the most-taught tool equals 100. No hidden weighting; views and momentum are reported separately, not folded in.
  • Tutorials & Views — counts and total view counts across the videos we track per tool (a sample of top videos), so treat them as relative, not exhaustive totals.
  • Recent — the share of a tool's tracked tutorials published in the last six months.
  • Tools below 5 educators are excluded as too thin to rank fairly.

Data as of August 20, 2026. Because educator adoption often precedes mainstream adoption, this ranking is a leading indicator of which AI coding tools developers will encounter next.
